Albert Wolfe - Overview

I came to China in 2005 with a “3 year plan,” but never left. I’ve seen the country (and the world) change incredibly in these last 20ish years.

My first “career” was as a linguist and teacher. I was surprised to find my blog (Laowai Chinese) was so popular that it led to a book that helped thousands of people learn Chinese without a formal classroom setting.

That same spirit of “self-directed learning” has brought me to an exciting array of current roles:

Albert Wolfe - Detailed Bio

Albert Wolfe has been a cultural ambassador since he arrived in China in 2005. His five books are related to China and helping the East meet the West.

Wolfe is an Executive Coach, University Professor, and Keynote Speaker from the USA with almost 20 years’ work experience in China, more than half of which have been in senior leadership positions including GM, Principal, Director, and Board Member for foreign-invested companies and multi-cultural staff.

He has 15 years university teaching experience, including at the University of Central Lancashire and Peking University’s Shenzhen Graduate School, where he brings a “coaching approach” to his classroom teaching.

His passion lies in developing healthy and thriving teams (especially cross cultural ones), facilitating individual and organizational learning, boosting communication effectiveness, and improving alignment of goals with systems and behavior.

He holds a master’s degree in Education and Linguistics, certifications in Executive Leadership (Oxford University) and Organizational Analysis (Stanford University), and is a trained Immunity to Change™ Facilitator.

He can work comfortably in English or Mandarin Chinese.
