Why am I seeing a bunch of weird looking characters?
It may be a problem with the way you are viewing the email or web page. So, here's what I would suggest you try:Change your browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla FireFox, Opera, etc.) to be: Character Encoding = Unicode (UTF-8 )In Internet Explorer this is how to do it:
click the View menu at the top of the screen
click the Encoding sub-menu
click "Unicode (UTF-8 )"
make sure the "Auto select/auto detect" check box is off
refresh your browser (click "Refresh" or push the F5 key on your keyboard).
The email or web page should now appear with pinyin tones where each of those Chinese characters used to be.Attention Hotmail subscribers: Hotmail sometimes can not display the pinyin and hanzi correctly. The only solution appears to be to use a different email provider. See here for more details.
Why didn't my comment show up?
All comments go into a moderation queue and then I have to approve them one by one, which can take me a few days depending on whether I'm at my computer. This is a spam-prevention measure, but it also lets me remove comments that I deem inappropriate for whatever reason. If you left a comment and it never showed up (even after a few days) the most likely reason I deleted it was I felt it was an advertisement for your own site or product rather than a contribution to the specific topic or content in the post.Sorry, but personal adds to make friends and offer tutoring are usually deleted. If you feel I have deleted one of your comments in error, or if you have any other problems with this site, pleaes feel free to contact me.
